Our very own Charles Onen Chan has been confirmed Lady Cranes Sevens coach replacing Helen Buteme’s and at the same time, Leonard Lubambula’s deputy in the Test set-up. Onen is a certified Level 2 coach, with a referee history and rich playing background of playing rugby. “It really means a lot to me because I have always extremely worked hard to develop players and my coaching passion”. Said Onen. Onen is another Kyadondo story, bred and groomed through the club system. He excelled as a player, referee and coach.
Dinah Hope Nyago is an Outgoing Jinja Senior Secondary School head teacher was recognised for her role in the rugby development. She was presented a plaque by Club Captain Michael Wokorach. Jinja S.S through partnership with Kyadondo Rugby Club provided scholarships to excelling rugby players. Philip Kibiojana (vice chairman), praised Nyago for the tremendous work towards supporting and spreading rugby.
The Hima cement Heathens will be hosting the betway kobs at Kyadondo Rugby grounds in Uganda’s Rugby Unions first Flood light rugby premiership Game. Friday 29 th November will see all roads lead to Kyadondo sports club that evening for nonstop rugby action. The kyadondo thunderbirds defeat Entebbe swans 00:15 to be crowned the 2019 Ladies Uganda Cup champions. The match was hosted at Kisubi University, home to kisubi pacers rugby team. Thunderbirds dominated the game with their more superior pack bagging three unanswered tries before the final whistle, This side was being coached by Onenchan Charles and kevin keremundu with hope of returning glory to The Thunderbirds.

The Elgon Cup is contested between the rugby union teams of Kenya and Uganda. The men's and women's teams of these countries each compete annually for their respective cups on a Home-and-Away basis. The competition and the cups are named after Mount Elgon, a mountain on the border of the two countries.

The National Sevens 2019 have been branded the Roke Telkom Sevens and Kick of at Kyadondo Rugby Club with Toyota buffaloes hosting the first circuit on the 25th may 2019. Toyota Buffaloes are prepared and have been geared towards winning the overall national sevens this season having last won it in 2014 last.
